Skiing in France
Skiing in France is incredibly varied, with terrain to suit everyone from first-time skiers to experienced off-piste enthusiasts. Wide, gentle pistes make many French resorts a good choice for beginners, while extensive networks of blue, red and black runs provide plenty of opportunities to progress.
France is particularly well known for its large interconnected ski areas. A single lift pass can give you access to hundreds of kilometres of pistes, allowing you to explore neighbouring resorts without having to return to the same runs every day.
Many French ski resorts are also located at high altitude, making them a popular choice for snow-sure ski holidays. Resorts such as Val Thorens, Tignes and Les Deux Alpes all offer skiing at impressive elevations, while extensive snowmaking helps maintain conditions lower down the mountain.

The Three Valleys
Home to Courchevel, Méribel and Val Thorens, Les Trois Vallées is the largest interconnected ski area in the world, with around 600km of pistes. It's an excellent choice for skiers who want a huge variety of terrain and the freedom to explore different resorts during their holiday.
Tignes - Val d'Isere (formerely Espace Killy)
Linking the two iconic resorts of Tignes and Val d’Isère, this high-altitude ski area is renowned for its excellent snow record, varied terrain and extensive skiing. Tignes–Val d’Isère, formerly known as Espace Killy, offers around 300km of pistes, with plenty of choice for beginners and intermediates alongside challenging terrain for more experienced skiers.

Paradiski
Paradiski connects Les Arcs and La Plagne to create one of the largest ski areas in the Alps. With around 425km of pistes, it offers an enormous variety of skiing, from wide beginner-friendly runs to challenging terrain and high-altitude routes.
Portes du Soleil
Straddling the French-Swiss border, the Portes du Soleil is one of the world's largest international ski areas. Our holidays give you access to the French side of the area, including the popular resort of Morzine.

La Plagne
Set within the vast Paradiski area, La Plagne is spread across ten villages, offering a mix of traditional Alpine charm and high-altitude skiing. A free bus service links the different villages, making it easy to explore the resort.

La Rosiere
La Rosiere enjoys a high, sunny location in the Tarentaise Valley, with stunning views towards Mont Blanc, the Matterhorn and Monte Rosa. Les Arcs
Les Arcs is made up of four purpose-built resorts at 1,600, 1,800, 1,950 and 2,000m, offering easy access to the slopes. Arc 1800 is the largest and liveliest, while Arc 2000 offers excellent ski access and a snow-sure high-altitude setting. Arc 1950 has a more traditional Alpine feel, with charming buildings and stunning mountain views.

Les Carroz
Set at 1,200m, Les Carroz is a charming Savoyard village and a popular choice for families. Part of the Grand Massif, it offers access to 265km of pistes across Flaine, Samoëns, Morillon and Sixt. Traditional timber buildings and tree-lined slopes give the resort an authentic Alpine feel, while its proximity to Geneva makes for a convenient transfer.

Les Deux Alpes
Spread out along the valley in this historic and charming village, the lifts are every few hundred yards, so you are never far away from one. Ski slopes run down both sides of the resort, which sits in a high altitude valley joining the 'two alps' of Venosc and Mont de Lans. The resort is ideal for non-skiers, as it gives access to both the glacier and Venosc by gondola. A funicular passes through the ice to La Meije glacier (3570 metres) there are breathtaking views and superb snow conditions.

Les Menuires
Les Menuires offers an excellent base for exploring the vast Three Valleys ski area, with 600km of pistes on the doorstep. Originally a purpose-built resort, it now combines convenient ski access with more traditional mountain architecture across its eight villages.

Meribel
At the heart of the Three Valleys, Méribel combines traditional Alpine charm with excellent access to the slopes and remains a firm favourite for many. The resort is filled with attractive wooden chalets, shops, bars and restaurants, while nearby Méribel-Mottaret offers a quieter, purpose-built base with superb ski access.

Montgenevre
Just 2km from the Italian border, Montgenèvre offers access to the vast Milky Way ski area, with 400km of pistes stretching across France and Italy. With the Italian resorts of Sestriere and Sauze d’Oulx on the doorstep, you can ski across the border and experience two countries in one holiday.

Serre Chevalier stretches across four villages in the French Alps, close to the Italian border. One of the highest and most snow-sure resorts in the French Alps, Tignes is a fantastic choice for keen skiers and snowboarders. Its three main villages are Le Lavachet, Le Lac and Val Claret which are linked by free buses, while the lift network connects with Val d’Isère to create 300km of pistes.

The beautiful village is packed with shops, bars, restaurants and après-ski spots, while its extensive lift network links directly with Tignes for 300km of skiing.
