Location makes a big difference, our chalets in Val Thorens are based in the Balcons area, close to the slopes and within easy reach of the resort centre, with bars, restaurants, shops and ski hire nearby. Each chalet has its own character and facilities, so it’s worth thinking about what matters most to your group before you book.

What should I look for when choosing a chalet in Val Thorens?

Think about what you’ll want from your chalet after a day on the slopes. Our Val Thorens chalets each have their own character and facilities, from spacious open-plan living areas and log fires to balconies with mountain views and shared sauna and steam room facilities.

How important is chalet location in Val Thorens?

Very. Our Val Thorens chalets are all in the Balcons area, around 200m (approx.) from the piste and close to the ski lifts. The resort centre is around a ten-minute walk away, with bars, restaurants, shops and ski hire nearby. There’s also a free ski bus, so you’ve got plenty of options for getting around the resort.

Is ski access worth prioritising?

Definitely, particularly if you want to spend as much time as possible on the mountain. Our chalets are close to the piste, with the nearest lifts around 200m (approx.) away. You also have ski hire in the same building, while the shared ski and boot rooms make it easy to store your kit when you’re back from the slopes. Check the individual chalet description for the exact access arrangements, as these vary slightly between properties.

Are Val Thorens chalets good for groups?

They can work particularly well for groups of friends and smaller families, especially if you value a sociable atmosphere. Our staff have found that guests on mixed chalet bookings quickly get to know one another, with the shared living and dining spaces naturally bringing people together. If you’re travelling with a larger group, the four chalets are all in the same building, so you can book more than one and still stay close together.

What's the advantage of having après and restaurants nearby?

It makes the whole ski day easier. Our chalets are around a ten-minute walk from the resort centre, with bars and restaurants close by. Red Fox is also near our Val Thorens accommodation and has live music twice a week, making it a popular spot for a drink and some après-ski after a day on the slopes. Having restaurants, bars and everyday amenities nearby means you don’t have to travel far once you’ve finished skiing.
