The resort offers more than 220 km of pistes, with a unique top-to-bottom vertical drop of 2,300 metres, allowing uninterrupted descents from the glacier to the valley. What makes Les Deux Alpes particularly distinctive is its sector-based layout, where the ski area is divided into clearly defined zones, each offering a different type of terrain, atmosphere and skiing experience. Les Deux Alpes Glacier 3600 piste map

The highest sector of the ski area, ranging from 3,600 m to 3,200 m, offers year-round snow and panoramic alpine views. This area is accessible via the Jandri lift system and provides terrain suitable for all levels.

Toura/Snowpark piste map (2,600-2,900 m)

Located between 2,600 m and 2,900 m, this is the freestyle hub of Les Deux Alpes, featuring one of the best snowparks in Europe, suitable for all levels.

La Fée/Le Diable piste map (2,100-2,400 m)

The La Fée and Le Diable sectors cover a large part of the mid- to high-altitude terrain on the southern side of Les Deux Alpes. Located between 2,100 m and 2,400 m, these two sectors offer contrasting skiing experiences within the same area. La Fée is known for its quieter atmosphere and freeride terrain, offering open slopes and panoramic views. In contrast, Le Diable is one of the most challenging sectors in Les Deux Alpes, featuring steeper red and black runs that descend through varied terrain. The sector is also strategically important within the ski area, as it connects efficiently to both the glacier via the Pierre Grosse gondola and the lower parts of the resort.

Vallée Blanche piste map (2,100 m)

At 2,100 m, Vallée Blanche offers a quieter environment and is now particularly suitable for beginners thanks to new gentle slopes.

Belle Étoile/resort base piste map (2,100-1,650 m)

The Belle Étoile and resort base sectors cover the lower part of Les Deux Alpes ski area around 1,650 m to 2,100 m. The Resort base (snow front) is designed for first-time skiers, with free lifts, ski schools and dedicated learning zones, making it the ideal place to start. It’s also where most ski lessons and beginner facilities are located. Above it, the Belle Étoile sector offers a natural progression, with wide green and blue runs that allow skiers to build confidence while staying close to the resort. Access is quick and efficient via multiple lifts, including the Belle Étoile and Village 1800 connections.

Les Deux Alpes ski area overview

Les Deux Alpes is one of the most distinctive ski areas in the Alps due to its high-altitude glacier skiing and exceptional vertical drop. The domain extends from 1,300 metres (Mont de Lans) up to 3,600 metres, offering reliable snow conditions throughout the season and even summer skiing on the glacier. The resort is built around a centralised lift system, allowing quick access to high-altitude terrain via lifts such as the Jandri gondola. From the glacier, skiers can descend continuously through multiple sectors back to the resort.

Beginners

Les Deux Alpes offers excellent progression terrain, particularly in Belle Étoile and Vallée Blanche, as well as dedicated beginner zones at higher altitude for more reliable snow.

Intermediates

Intermediate skiers benefit from long, consistent runs such as Signal 1, Signal 3 and Jandri pistes, as well as glacier descents offering reliable conditions.

Advanced & expert skiers

Advanced skiers will find steeper terrain in Le Diable sector, along with more technical descents from higher altitude areas and long vertical runs.
