Valloire/Valmeinier ski map explained
On the piste map, the Valloire ski area is structured around the village in the centre, with skiing rising on two distinct mountain sides that are clearly separated by the valley. From the village base (around 1,430 m), lift lines climb directly upwards into the Sétaz sector on one side and the Crey du Quart sector on the opposite side, forming the core layout of the domain.
-
On one side of the map, the Sétaz massif rises more steeply above the village, with lifts heading towards the Grand Plateau (around 2,500 m). The piste network here appears more linear, with a sequence of blue and red runs descending back towards Valloire, while higher sections include steeper red and black pistes. The map also shows clearly defined beginner areas at altitude, particularly around the Thymel plateau, where wide, gentle slopes are grouped near lift arrivals.
-
On the opposite side, the Crey du Quart massif spreads more widely across the map, forming the largest and most interconnected part of the ski area. From the village, lifts rise towards Brive and the upper ridgelines (around 2,500/2,750 m), where the terrain opens into broader slopes. This side shows a denser network of blue and red pistes, with multiple long descents returning to the village, while higher sections include more technical black runs. The snowpark and freestyle zones are also located here at mid-altitude, clearly marked on the map.
-
Extending further across the upper part of the map, the ski area connects directly into Valmeinier, with the Crey du Quart ridge acting as the main link between the two resorts. Beyond this point, the terrain continues towards Gros Crey, where the map shows more exposed, higher-altitude slopes and a stronger concentration of advanced terrain.
-
Across both sides, the piste map highlights a strong vertical structure, with runs dropping from above 2,500 m down to the village, creating long, continuous descents. The layout also shows multiple access points via gondolas from the centre, allowing skiers to reach high-altitude terrain quickly without long traverses.
