Ski holidays in the Paradiski Nestled deep in the Tarentaise valley, the three neighbouring ski areas which make up the enormous Paradiski area enjoy some of the best snowfall in the Alps year in, year out. Les Arcs and La Plagne are household names for many skiers – often one of them will have been the destination of our first ski holiday – and for good reasons. The third, Peisey-Vallandry, is a twinned resort nestled in the trees below Les Arcs in a quiet hamlet with excellent access to the skiing.
The Paradiski area is separated by the cavernous Vanoise valley. Lucky for us, the Vanoise Express double-decker cable car will transport you and 199 of your friends between Les Arcs and La Plagne in as little as 7 minutes. There’s over 420km of skiing available, over 264 pistes, between 1200m and 3250m, and with 2 glaciers to explore. Amazing!
La Plagne has a diversity of skiing to suit all abilities and moreover it has plenty of it; from bunny slopes to extreme off-piste, as well as ski schools to cater for all levels. Being able to offer such a variety of choice and such an enormous ski area means you’ll often find some of the best value ski holidays available in La Plagne – from catered chalets to self catered apartments - all season long Inter-resort transportation is great, with free busses running all day and late into the night and late-night gondolas connecting villages. It’s easy to explore all the villages and easily make it back to your chalet.

You have a choice of 4 villages to stay in on a visit to Les Arcs; 1600, 1800, 1950 and 2000, which means as your skiing progresses you can come back year after year and stay in a different village, each offering access to a different level of skiing. The Aiguille Rouge, at 3,226m, marks the highest point of the Vanoise range and the Paradiski area. The views are not to be missed and the 7km run back into the resort is the ultimate thigh-burner! The unique twist in Les Arcs is the ability to hop on the funicular train from 1600 down into the historic Savoie town of Bourg st Maurice. A particularly good idea for an afternoon if the weather closes in on the mountain.
