A strong reputation for gourmet dining makes either of these resorts a fantastic option for a refined Italian ski holiday.

Skiing and Boarding in Corvara & Colfosco

The first ski lift in the valley – the Col Alto Toboggan lift - was constructed in 1938. This was replaced in 1946 by a chairlift which was the first of its kind in Italy. Since then, skiing in Corvara and Colfosco have flourished thanks to the sunny climate and easy access to the picturesque skiing around the Sellaronda.

The skiing in Alta Badia valley where both these villages sit offers something for all standards. Although there is considerably more beginner and intermediate terrain than expert-level, the black runs are certainly challenging and the off-piste is sublime (we recommend a local guide). An added benefit is the consistency of the pistes thanks to slopes on all aspects of the compass which are situated both above and below the treeline. A rich diversity of pistes for skiers and snowboarders is abound in Corvara and Colfosco.

It’s one of the largest ski areas in the world and value for money (£’s per km) is quite incredible if you like to get around on the slopes!
