Corvara and Colfosco sit at the centre of the Alta Badia ski area, forming one of the most strategic access points to the Dolomiti Superski network. Positioned directly on the Sella Ronda circuit, both villages provide immediate access in multiple directions, making them ideal bases for exploring the wider Dolomites. On the piste map, Corvara acts as the main hub, with lifts spreading out in all directions, while Colfosco sits just above it on the slope towards Passo Gardena. Together, they create a continuous ski area with direct links towards Arabba, Selva di Val Gardena and the wider Alta Badia plateau.

Alta Badia piste ski map explained (including Corvara & Colfosco)
Corvara is located at the centre of the piste map at 1,568 m, acting as the main junction where multiple lift systems converge, while Colfosco sits just above it, slightly to the right, at 1,645 m on the slope leading towards Passo Gardena.
-
Directly above both villages, the terrain rises towards the Colfosco and Passo Gardena sector, where lifts such as Col Pradat and Forcelles lead into higher altitude slopes connecting towards Selva. This upper area forms one of the main gateways into the Sella Ronda, clearly visible on the map as a transition point between valleys.
-
To the left of Corvara, the ski area extends towards Passo Campolongo and Arabba, with lifts such as Boé and Vallon climbing towards higher alpine terrain. This side of the map shows longer red runs and more exposed slopes, forming the connection into the Sella Ronda towards the Marmolada sector.
-
To the right and slightly below Corvara, the terrain opens into the Pralongià plateau, a wide and gently undulating area with multiple lift lines spreading across open slopes. This sector connects further towards San Cassiano and La Villa, forming the core of the Alta Badia ski area.
-
Further down from Corvara, lower slopes return into the village from multiple directions, creating a dense and highly accessible base area with lift access on all sides. Colfosco, positioned slightly higher, connects directly into these same sectors but with quicker access to the upper slopes towards Passo Gardena.
Corvara & Colfosco ski slopes
The piste map shows that skiing around Corvara and Colfosco is dominated by wide, flowing terrain, with the majority of slopes distributed across the central plateau and the surrounding mountain sides.
-
Beginner slopes are concentrated close to both villages, particularly around the lower lifts and nursery areas visible near Corvara and Colfosco, where gentle gradients and short lift systems provide easy progression.
-
Intermediate terrain forms the largest part of the ski area, with a dense network of blue and red runs spreading out from Corvara in all directions. These slopes are especially visible across the Pralongià plateau to the right of the map and along the connections towards Arabba and Selva, allowing long, continuous cruising routes.
-
Advanced terrain is less concentrated directly around the villages but becomes more apparent on the higher slopes to the left towards the Boé and Vallon sectors, as well as on steeper descents connecting towards Arabba. These areas provide more sustained gradients compared to the central plateau.
-
Long-distance skiing is a key feature of this area, with both villages sitting directly on the Sella Ronda circuit. From Corvara or Colfosco, skiers can follow continuous blue and red runs in either direction around the Sella massif, linking multiple valleys without removing skis.
