Skiing in St Moritz and Zermatt

Skiing in St. Moritz: Varied Terrain and Modern Facilities

Nestled in the Engadin Valley, St. Moritz is a treasure of the Swiss Alps, renowned for its opulence and winter sports excellence. With its majestic peaks, crystal-clear lakes, sophisticated lifestyle, and rich sporting heritage, St. Moritz epitomises alpine elegance.

St. Moritz offers 350km of diverse skiing with long, wide, and well-maintained slopes. The resort is divided into three distinct areas, with Corviglia, accessible via a two-stage railway, and Corvatsch being the most convenient from town. Recent investments have added numerous fast lifts, minimizing queues even during peak season.

Located at 1,856m in the Engadin Valley, St. Moritz combines reliable snow conditions with abundant sunshine. The slopes begin at 1,800m, with the highest point reaching 3,305m. Intermediate skiers will appreciate the extensive long, rolling red and blue runs, while beginners can take advantage of the main nursery slopes at Corviglia.

The town is situated by a vast lake that freezes over in winter, hosting unique activities such as horse racing, polo, golf, and cricket. St. Moritz’s main street features high-end boutiques like Prada, Versace, and Louis Vuitton, along with several luxurious hotels.

Experience Zermatt: Switzerland's Iconic Resort

Zermatt is Switzerland's most renowned resort, famed for its stunning views of the Matterhorn, the most photogenic mountain in the Alps. Below this towering peak lies a vibrant, cosmopolitan village filled with stylish hotels and charming wooden chalets. The atmosphere is lively, complemented by the quiet hum of electric buses and taxis in this otherwise car-free resort.

Zermatt boasts impressive snow reliability, with a season running from late November to the end of April. It offers a vast 350km of pistes, shared with the linked resorts of Cervinia and Valtournenche in Italy, with the highest station reaching an impressive 3,820m.

Intermediate and advanced skiers will find themselves in paradise here, enjoying a variety of runs amidst spectacular high-altitude scenery.
