Samoëns is a picturesque French mountain town in the Grand Massif ski area, featuring 256km of pistes and the linked villages of Les Carroz, Morillon and Flaine. It is the only ski resort in France to have the status of ‘Monuments Historique’ thanks to its beautiful old buildings and much of the modern resort is considerate to this aesthetic too. An hour by car from Geneva, the village has a traffic-free centre with a traditional village square and features a good selection of dining options and bars (even though it's definitely more 'family-friendly' than 'party-town').
