Overview of Courmayeur
Located at the top of the Aosta valley and with 14 peaks higher than 4000m, Courmayeur is serious mountain destination, often compared to neighbouring Chamonix for its huge variety of challenging terrain beneath the towering Mt Blanc.
Traditional Alpine architecture adorns the buildings in the car-free village making it feel more French at first glance, but the true Italian charm starts to seep from the cobbled streets as you explore further. The resort bills itself with the strapline, 'Come experience a crescendo of fine Italian food, exciting sport activities, superior relaxation and prime shopping' - which sounds pretty tempting!
3 Things We Love About Courmayeur
- Amazing ski terrain to explore, including the option to heli ski and ski tour extensively.
- The Skyway Monte Bianco rotating cable car up to Punta Helbronner at 3,462 metres is a masterful feat of engineering.
- A historic and charming alpine village that maintains tradition whilst innovating for the future of mountain tourism.
