An Italy ski holiday combines excellent skiing with spectacular mountain scenery, traditional Alpine villages and some of the best mountain cuisine in Europe. From the dramatic peaks of the Dolomites to the Italian Alps, there is plenty to explore both on and off the slopes.
Ski holidays in Italy are particularly popular with intermediate skiers, thanks to wide, well-groomed pistes, long cruising runs and extensive ski areas to explore. There is also plenty of terrain for beginners and more experienced skiers, making Italy a versatile choice for families, couples and groups.

Ski areas in Italy
Skiing in Italy offers an impressive variety of terrain and some of the most distinctive mountain scenery in the Alps. The Italian Alps and Dolomites are home to extensive ski areas, with everything from gentle slopes for beginners and wide cruising pistes for intermediates to more challenging terrain for advanced skiers.
The Dolomites are particularly popular with intermediate skiers. The pistes are generally wide and well maintained, making it easy to cover plenty of ground during a week's holiday. Many of the ski areas are also linked by lifts and pistes, giving you the opportunity to explore several valleys and resorts.
For beginners, Italian resorts offer a good choice of ski schools and dedicated nursery slopes, while experienced skiers can find steeper terrain, off-piste routes and challenging runs across the larger ski areas.
Away from the skiing, Italy offers a different Alpine experience to France or Austria. Traditional villages, dramatic limestone peaks and excellent mountain restaurants are all part of the appeal.
