Christmas ski deals 2025

You name it, we've skied it. Meet the experts...

We’re Skiworld, the UK’s largest independent ski tour operator, and we’ve been sending skiers to the mountains since 1982. It all began with Ian Coleby, a keen skier who believed winter holidays could be better. He’s still our Chairman today and just as passionate about the slopes.

From catered chalets to stylish hotels and self-catered apartments, we offer ski holiday options for everyone. Families, groups, beginners or seasoned skiers can all find their perfect fit in the most snow-sure resorts across Europe, Canada and the USA. Travel from airports across the UK or choose a self-drive option with Eurotunnel.

Run by skiers, for skiers. We offer award-winning service, excellent value, full financial protection and our Price Match Promise so you can book with confidence and focus on what really matters — the skiing.

Ski Weekends: How to Make the Most of Short Ski Breaks

Looking for a quick escape to the mountains next winter? Our new short ski breaks for the 25/26 season offers the perfect solution. With options for three or four-day stays, you can enjoy your snow fix without the commitment of a full week away.

Bubbles or Quits - Ski Chalets with Hot Tubs

Ski chalets with hot tubs are in high demand, but if this sounds like your cup of tea (or more likely champagne), then you’d better book up quick as they’re among the most popular properties for a ski holiday and usually get booked up first.

Why book a ski holiday?

As any skier will know, a ski holiday is more than just a break. It’s a breath of fresh alpine air, a thrilling adventure, and a chance to swap the daily routine for snow-drenched peaks and unforgettable mountain moments. Whether you're carving your first turns or chasing powder like a pro, there’s a unique kind of freedom that comes with life on the slopes. Enjoy crisp mornings, scenic chairlift rides, long lunches with panoramic views, and après-ski that blends perfectly into the sunset sky.

At Skiworld, we believe a ski holiday should be easy, exciting, and tailored to you, whether that means a cosy catered chalet, a self-catered apartment, or a luxury hotel stay. So why book a ski holiday? Because nothing compares to the magic of the mountains, and we’re here to make it effortless from start to finish.

WHAT'S INCLUDED IN MY SKI HOLIDAY?

When you book with Skiworld, your ski holiday is packed with everything you need to make the most of your time in the mountains. Return travel and transfers are included if confirmed on your invoice, along with your flight baggage allowance as detailed in your itinerary. Your accommodation and meals will be exactly as outlined on your booking, whether that's a sociable catered chalet, a flexible self-catered apartment, or a comfortable hotel.

For those staying in one of our European chalets, you’ll enjoy a continental breakfast every day, plus five mornings of hearty hot options cooked by your hosts. In the evenings, tuck into a delicious 3 or 4-course dinner with complimentary wine on six nights, leaving you one evening free to explore the local dining scene.

If your package includes flights, we’ll arrange transfers to and from your resort accommodation (or as close as local conditions allow). Unlike many others, we don't rely on shared or scheduled transfer services with long waits or ambiguous drop off locations. We use our own transfers to get you up the mountain smoothly and without unnecessary delays. Airport and airline taxes, Air Passenger Duty, and ATOL Protection Contribution are also included for flight-inclusive holidays. Plus, you'll benefit from the support of our knowledgeable resort hosts in most destinations (excluding certain resorts or tailor-made trips).

For those staying in self-catering accommodation, bed linen is provided in North America and in European apartments where stated. We’ve taken care of the essentials so all you have to do is focus on the fun.

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A SKI CHALET, A HOTEL AND AN APARTMENT?

Each type of ski accommodation offers a different style of mountain holiday, so it really depends on how you want to experience your time on the slopes. A ski chalet is a cosy, sociable home-from-home, often shared with other guests, where you’ll be looked after by your very own chalet hosts. Our chalets typically include hearty breakfasts, afternoon tea, and delicious evening meals with wine on six nights—perfect if you want a laid-back, catered experience with a personal touch.

A ski hotel gives you a little more privacy and often comes with extra facilities like spas, bars, or on-site resturants. Ideal if you're looking for flexibility, hotels offer a range of board options, from bed & breakfast to half board or even full board, and you can enjoy the independence of eating out or staying in.

A self-catered ski apartment is great for those who prefer to do their own thing. You’ll have your own space and kitchen facilities, giving you the freedom to cook what you like, when you like, or sample the restaurants around resort. Apartments are often a popular choice for families, groups, or anyone looking for a budget-friendly base with plenty of flexibility.

Whatever your style, there’s an option to suit every skier and we’re here to help you find the perfect fit.

WHAT DO I NEED TO PACK FOR A SKI TRIP?

Packing for a ski holiday is all about layering up and being prepared for the mountain weather so think warmth, comfort, and practicality. Start with the essentials: a good quality ski jacket and salopettes or ski trousers, plus thermal base layers, mid-layers (like fleeces or jumpers), and plenty of ski socks. Don’t forget gloves or mittens, a hat or helmet-compatible beanie, and a neck warmer or buff to keep the chill out on windy chairlifts.

You'll also need goggles for snowy or sunny days on the slopes and sunglasses for when you're off them. Sunscreen and lip balm with high SPF are musts—yes, even in the snow! Waterproof snow boots or sturdy footwear are ideal for walking around resort, especially in icy conditions.

If you're bringing your own gear, pack your skis or snowboard, boots, poles, and helmet—but if you’re renting, save the luggage space! Casual clothes for après-ski and something comfy for chalet evenings or heading out to dinner are always handy. And don’t forget travel documents and insurance info. At the end of the day, it’s all about being warm, dry and ready for anything the mountain throws at you. If in doubt, pack that extra layer. It’s better to peel off than wish you had it!

WHAT IF THERE'S NO SNOW DURING MY SKI HOLIDAY ?

It’s a common concern but thankfully, true no-snow scenarios are incredibly rare, especially with the way we plan our ski holidays. Skiworld only features high-altitude and snow-sure resorts across Europe and North America, with access to glaciers, extensive snowmaking, and modern lift infrastructure that helps keep the pistes open even when Mother Nature takes an unpredictable turn. In fact, in many of our featured resorts, it's possibly to ski all the way through to summer!

That said, if conditions aren’t ideal, resorts usually prioritise snowmaking on main runs and connections, so you’ll still be able to ski, often more than you'd expect. Plus, there’s more to the mountains than just skiing: snowshoeing, spas, sledging, scenic mountain restaurants, and buzzing après-ski scenes all offer alternative ways to enjoy your time away.

In extremely rare cases where skiing really isn't possible, we’ll always do our best to support you with updates, local info, and alternative activities. While we can’t control the weather, we can help make sure you still have a fantastic time in the mountains.

WHAT IF MY FLIGHT IS DELAYED?

While the vast majority of our departures run smoothly and on time, occasional delays can happen especially when factors like weather or air traffic come into play. We work closely with our airline partners and always aim to minimise any disruption, keeping delays as short as possible where we can. That said, some situations are beyond our control, particularly with scheduled airlines who may not always notify us of changes in real time. We'll always communicate the latest travel updates to you when we receive these.

If you’re flying to the US or Canada and your plans change, especially if you’re on a connecting flight, please contact your Area Manager using the number provided in your itinerary. It’s important we know your updated arrival time so we can support you on the ground.

For all guests, we strongly recommend allowing ample time to reach the airport, taking into account traffic, parking, and terminal access. The travel services we arrange, such as transfers, are non-transferable, so missing your outbound flight could mean arranging your own onward travel. If this does happen, please contact your airport rep in North America or our London office right away, as our teams will be expecting you at your original scheduled time.

And do keep in mind: most scheduled airlines will automatically cancel all onward and return legs of a booking if the outbound flight is missed, so it’s essential to act quickly. If in doubt, get in touch—we’re here to help every step of the way.

I'VE NEVER SKIED, CAN I STILL GO ON A SKI HOLIDAY ?

Absolutely! Ski holidays aren’t just for seasoned skiers. Everyone has to start somewhere! We realise that booking your first ski holiday can be daunting. At Skiworld, we know exactly what it takes to get you off to a flying start (and not a giant tumble). From selecting the perfect resort for your ability to finding comfortable accommodation for resting tired legs, we’ll take care of every detail to tailor your holiday to your needs. Before you know it, you’ll be skiing like a pro!

Plus a ski holiday isn’t just about skiing. From cosy chalet evenings and lively après-ski to hot chocolate with a view, spa days, and snowy walks, there’s so much more to enjoy. You can learn at your own pace, take breaks when you need to, and still soak up the incredible atmosphere of the mountains.

We’re here to help you choose a resort and accommodation that suits your pace and preferences, so your first ski trip is as fun and stress-free as possible.

Fancy joining our learn to ski package holiday? Catered to complete beginners, make like-minded friends on your learning journey and leave ready to return to the mountains a more confident skier.

WHAT IF I NEED TO CHANGE MY BOOKING?

We understand that plans can change and we’ll always do our best to help. If you need to amend your booking, whether it's changing dates, adding extras, or updating passenger details, just get in touch with our team as soon as possible. The earlier you let us know, the more flexibility we have to assist. When booking, you'll also only have to pay a deposit to secure your trip until the final balance is due ten weeks before your departure date.

Please note that amendment fees may apply, and any changes are subject to availability and the terms of your booking. Some elements like flights or accommodation may be non-changeable or incur third-party charges, especially closer to departure. Once you’ve taken out travel insurance (a mandatory requirement for our holidays), you may be covered for certain changes or cancellations depending on your policy.

We’re here to guide you through your options, explain any costs involved, and make the process as smooth as possible—just give us a call or drop us a message and we’ll take it from there.

CAN I STAY IN A CHALET IF I HAVE SPECIFIC DIETARY REQUIREMENTS?

Yes, you can but it’s essential to speak with us before you book so we can make sure your needs can be catered for. All our chalet menus are freshly prepared, set menus designed to feel like home-from-home cooking, with a twist of local flavour to reflect the country you’re visiting. Evening meals are served at a set time in a sociable dinner-party style, while afternoon tea is laid out for when you return from the slopes.

In our chalets (grades 3 to 5), you’ll enjoy a full chalet board including a daily breakfast (with cooked options on most days), indulgent afternoon tea, and a three-course evening meal with hand-picked silver level wines (served until coffee) on six nights of your stay. If you're staying in one of our Signature Chalets, expect even more: from champagne on arrival and apéritifs with canapés, to a four-course dinner with port, gold-level wines, and thoughtful extras like fresh fruit and daily breakfast specials.

We’re happy to cater for many dietary requirements such as vegetarian, vegan, gluten- or dairy-free diets, but because our menus are set and based on local ingredients, we do need to know in advance. Some dietary requests may require the preparation of separate meals and additional ingredients. In these cases, your booking can only be confirmed once we’ve written back to say we can meet your needs. Additional charges may apply (e.g. £29 per person per week for vegan, gluten-free, or dairy-free menus) and must be confirmed and noted on your invoice.

If a request is made in resort without prior agreement, we cannot guarantee we’ll be able to cater for it, and a fee of €60 will apply if we can. For children, high tea can be arranged in advance—just let us know their ages when booking.

Please be aware that while our chalet hosts are trained and do their best, they are not professional allergen specialists, and we cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment. Cross-contamination is always a risk, and we cannot take responsibility for food brought in by other guests or served by airlines or restaurants.

In short, if you have dietary needs, we’re here to help. Just make sure to speak to us before you book, so we can ensure a chalet holiday is the right choice for you and confirm everything in writing.

I CAN'T STAY FOR A WHOLE WEEK, CAN I BOOK A SHORT SKI BREAK?

Yes, you can! While most of our chalet holidays run on a traditional seven-night schedule, we understand that not everyone can commit to a full week in the mountains. That’s why we offer a selection of short ski breaks in selected resorts and accommodations, including a catered chalet for complete ease.  These are ideal for a long weekend on the slopes or a midweek escape.

Short breaks are typically more available outside of peak weeks and in resorts with easy airport access. If you’re looking for a quick ski fix, get in touch with our team—we’ll help you find the right resort, travel options, and accommodation to suit your dates. Three nights or four, we’ll make sure every moment counts.

ARE SKI CHALETS SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN?

Yes, we have a variety of family friendly ski chalets that are a fantastic option for families travelling with children! They offer a relaxed, home-from-home atmosphere ideal for unwinding after a day on the slopes. With spacious communal areas, hearty meals, and a friendly chalet host to take care of the cooking and cleaning, parents can relax while little ones settle in comfortably.

For families with younger children, we can arrange high tea, served earlier in the evening with child-friendly meals, just let us know at the time of booking so it can be included on your invoice. Some chalets may also have family rooms or can be booked for sole occupancy, offering extra privacy and flexibility.

It’s worth noting that chalet life is sociable and meals are served at set times, so if your children are very young or need a specific routine, we recommend discussing your needs with us before booking to make sure a chalet holiday is the right fit. We’ll help you choose the best resort and accommodation for your family’s comfort and convenience.

CAN I STAY IN A CHALET AS A SOLO TRAVELLER?

Solo skiers and snowboarders are very welcome in our chalets! In fact, ski holidays can be a brilliant option for solo travel offering the perfect mix of freedom on the slopes and a sociable, welcoming atmosphere back at the chalet. You’ll share meals with fellow guests, enjoy lively conversation over wine, and never feel like you’re alone unless you want to be.

That said, it’s worth noting that chalet holidays are typically priced per person based on full room occupancy. So, if you’re booking a twin or double room for sole use, a single occupancy supplement will apply. This isn’t about profit, it’s simply because our contracts with chalet owners are based on the cost of the whole room, rather than per person. That cost is then reflected in your price if the room isn’t shared. In some of our properties, you’ll find rooms specifically designed for solo travellers, which generally carry a lower supplement than sole use of a larger room.

For the 2025/26 winter season, we'll also be running three specific solo ski trips in Alpe d'Huez, Courchevel and Les Deux Alpes (over 50s). You'll travel with like-minded solo travellers with a dedicated Trip Manager on-hand for social skiing and events, all the while avoiding the single occupancy supplement of a typical ski week.

WHAT ACTIVITIES ARE THERE FOR NON-SKIERS?

There’s so much more to a ski holiday than skiing! Whether you’re taking a break from the slopes or simply prefer to stay off skis altogether, ski resorts are full of exciting and relaxing activities to suit every pace and personality.

Think scenic winter walks, snowshoeing adventures, husky sledding, or a thrilling ride on a toboggan run. Many resorts offer spa and wellness facilities, heated pools, or hot tubs with stunning mountain views perfect for unwinding while the others ski. You can explore charming alpine villages, browse boutiques, enjoy a long lunch on a sun terrace, or take a gondola up the mountain just for the views.

Après-ski isn’t just for skiers either. From cosy cafés and live music to cocktail bars and mountain restaurants, there’s plenty to enjoy once the lifts close. Some resorts even have ice rinks, bowling alleys, or cultural spots like museums and galleries to discover. So, whether you're after adventure, relaxation, or a bit of both, you’ll find that a ski holiday can be just as magical for non-skiers too.
