Current Snow Summary — at a Glance

Updated 15th January, 2026

POWDER, POWDER EVERYWHERE! The long-awaited change in the weather arrived last Thursday with snow fronts moving into the Alps, dumping over a metre of beautiful fresh powder snow on some of our resorts. Perfect timing for a new week of guests (who timed their holiday bookings to perfection). Less snow is expected this week, and although skiing conditions are amazing, caution should be taken due to the increased avalanche risk. Ski safe!

Practical Info & Booking Tips

  1. Lift passes: To maximise fresh snow opportunities, plump for a full-area pass where available as it will allow you to access all slopes, on all aspects, up to the highest possible altitude in your area.
  2. Transfers: If heavy snowfall is forecast, be prepared for longer mountain transfers in order to arrive safely at your destination. Winter tyres and chains may be required on local roads.
  3. Ski hire: If chasing fresh powder, choose wider skis or consult a reputable local hire shop for advice and match equipment to your level of skill.
  4. Insurance: Ensure your travel insurance covers piste closures and helicopter rescue if you’re planning to ski off-piste.
