No two days are ever the same as a Skiworld Resort Manager. One minute you're supporting your team, the next you're solving a guest query, coordinating resort logistics or strengthening relationships with local suppliers. It's a fast-paced, people-focused role that demands organisation, initiative and great leadership – but it's also one of the most rewarding jobs on the mountain.
Transfer day is the busiest day of the week. You'll oversee guest departures and arrivals, visit every chalet and ensure everything is running smoothly. Whether it's sourcing forgotten essentials, arranging cots and high chairs, supporting a Chalet Host through a challenging day or jumping in to help where needed, you'll be the calm, reassuring presence your team can rely on.
As new guests arrive, you'll coordinate a wide range of operational tasks. Lift passes need ordering and collecting, payments reconciled, ski hire and lift pass requests confirmed, and every guest receives the excellent service they're expecting from Skiworld. Delivering lift passes directly to each chalet is just one of the details that helps create a seamless holiday experience.
You'll oversee a diverse team of Reps, Chalet Hosts, Chalet Managers, Maintenance Drivers and a Resort Finance Administrator. Supporting, motivating and developing your team is at the heart of the role, creating an environment where everyone can deliver their best throughout the season.
Regular team meetings provide the opportunity to share updates, celebrate successes, tackle challenges and keep morale high during the busiest periods. Leading by example, offering encouragement and maintaining a visible presence in resort are all essential qualities of a successful Resort Manager.
Sundays are all about ensuring guests get the best possible start to their holiday. You'll make sure lift passes have been distributed, ski school has launched smoothly and delegated tasks have been completed efficiently.
Later in the day, you'll catch up with your reps to review transfer day, discuss guest feedback and plan the week's après-ski programme and events.
A successful resort depends on strong local partnerships. You'll work closely with chalet owners, ski schools, lift pass offices, ski hire providers and other local contacts to ensure everything runs efficiently for both guests and staff.
Regular chalet inspections help ensure Skiworld's high standards of cleanliness and presentation are maintained throughout the season. More importantly, they give you valuable opportunities to coach, support and encourage your team, helping them grow in confidence and deliver exceptional guest experiences.
You'll also oversee the completion of weekly resort and chalet reports, ensuring they're accurate, submitted on time and reflect everything happening in resort. Delegating effectively and developing your team's skills are key parts of keeping the operation running smoothly.
Your days off will usually differ from the rest of your team's to ensure management cover is always available. Another member of the management team will deputise while you're away, giving you the chance to relax and enjoy everything the mountains have to offer.
Being a Skiworld Resort Manager means taking ownership. You'll have the support of an experienced Head Office team, but you'll be trusted to make decisions, lead your people and shape the guest experience from arrival to departure. If you're a confident leader who thrives on responsibility and loves life in the mountains, this is your opportunity to make your mark.
