Resort Review – Vail, Colorado

Corduroy at Vail, Colorado

Well, what can be said about Vail? You’ve probably heard the name… but does the hype match the experience? As I found out for myself, the answer is “most definitely!” 다운로드. Without hesitation, I would visit Vail again, if not for the ear-to-ear grin of total satisfaction from a ski trip, then at least to experience skiing in the legendary back bowls. I think I would stay in there for the rest of the season given the chance… just spectacular. Other than the skiing, my experiences ranged from ‘authentic Western’, watching impeccably moustachioed cowboys wander the streets in their Stetson hats and leather boots, to ‘Party party party’ in some of the best après venues I’ve experienced anywhere…

The People

As arguably the largest and most famous ski resort in the US, Vail understandably draws in guests from all over the globe 범죄도시 다시보기. English unsurprisingly is the predominant language however many other languages are spoken especially by the large number of people visiting and working from South America. Regardless of any language barrier the locals are friendly, welcoming and will do what they can to help out and happily chat about your day on the slopes 다운로드.

Après/Nightlife/Food

Both villages have a range of evening entertainment so whether you’re looking for fine dining, sports bars or authentic pizzerias you will be able to find them all. The Red Lion in Vail Village is a bar that is particularly noteworthy as it is busy from lift closing until the early hours offering great food, drinks and live music 다운로드. The Tavern on the square in Lionshead is another that deserves a mention and offers a similar option at the other end of resort commercial bounce house for sale cheap.

Runs/Off-Piste/Lifts

The Ski area at Vail is massive; it’s well known for being the largest in the US and offers a great range of terrain for all abilities 가족끼리 왜 이래. The runs are all well maintained and groomed offering great skiing especially in the mornings. The wide open runs and vast expanse means that crowds on the slopes are rare and at times you can even find yourself with runs entirely to yourself. The lift system at times can feel a little slow in the far reaches of the resort, especially if you are used to some of the big European resorts that seem to have a higher number of high speed chairlifts 다운로드. That said you rarely have to queue for the lifts and even at peak times at the busiest lifts, queuing is a far more relaxed and friendly affair than in Europe.

Skiing/Boarding Difficulty

The front of the mountain offers a range of runs and a great area for beginners on wide open groomed runs, intermediate skiers can find slightly more challenging terrain in Game Creek Bowl and the back bowls offer a huge range of terrain for those looking for more of a challenge 소방안전교육 동영상 다운로드. Like many resorts in Colorado the trees offer a thrilling challenge to those who venture into them across the entire area, if you are lucky enough to time your visit with fresh snow the experience can be unrivalled although it’s well worth heeding the many warnings and remembering that trees don’t move!

Value for Money

It was a pleasant surprise to find that the resort wasn’t as expensive as expected. Food and drinks in the bars were reasonable and with generous portion sizes made them quite good value 파이썬 인터프리터 다운로드. The mountain restaurants are a little more expensive but were still similar to what might expect in many resorts in Europe.

Travel/Transport

The main airport used to access Vail is Denver which is around a 2 hour drive away. It is possible to use a few different flight routes to get to Denver although the only direct flight from the UK is a British Airways flight from Heathrow 다운로드. Transfers to the resort are very straight forward, Colorado Mountain Express have a range of vehicles for different group sizes but all are very comfortable and come with free WiFi.
