Most ski holidays have chalets that are catered, but what if you wanted to stay in a chalet and not be catered for? Well now you have that option, as Skiworld have launched a selection of Independent Chalet, and these are perfect for a winter ski holiday with your friends or family. Wondering what the benefits of Independent Chalets are? Then keep reading for five reasons why these might be a great option for your group.
1. You can cook together
Our Independent Chalets are perfect for those that want to show off their cooking skills. You could potentially take turns cooking and knock up your favourite dish. To make it even more fun why not consider making it a game like “Come Dine With Me” where you take turns, rate each other, and then the person with the highest rating at the end of your trip wins a prize?
2. …or eat out more
Or if cooking isn’t really your thing and you don’t fancy a catered-chalet then you could eat out more instead. All our Independent Chalets are based in top resorts including Val Thorens, Méribel, La Plagne and Val d’Isère. These are well established with plenty of in-resort restaurants serving cuisines to suit all tastes. For example, La Corniche Restaurant in Val d’Isère is a traditional Savoyard restaurant in the old town. And in Meribel, a firm Skiworld favourite for apres ski as well as delicious meals throughout the day is Evolution Cafe & Bar.
3. The Independent Chalet package is cheaper
As you don’t get food, wine, and some of the other benefits of catered-chalets, this means you’ll save a bit on your booking price. Independent Chalet packages include your return flights, transfers and accommodation. We also include a ‘Meet and Greet’ service, bed linen and towels, beds made on arrival, mid-week towel change, lift pass delivery, ski hire and ski school booking. By booking your lift pass and equipment hire (or carriage) through us you’d also get to take advantage of our buying power to get the best prices.
4. Our Independent Chalets are beautiful
We’re not trying to boast but our Independent Chalets are beautiful. Consider Chalet Carmen in Tignes, Chalet Crocus Blanc in La Plagne and Chalet Sylvie in Val d’lsère, all of these have been designed and furnished so you’ll have a great place to come back to after a day on the slopes.
5. You’ll have the whole chalet to yourself
Our current range of Independent Chalets sleep between 9 and 10 people and can only be booked as a whole. This means that you will have the entire chalet to yourself and it’ll feel almost like it’s your home-from-home during your stay. This also gives you the added flexibility that you don’t have to plan around the catering schedule and can decide what you want to do amongst yourself. This is also great for families with young children as you can make as much noise as you like and you won’t bother anybody else. Meal sittings can also be at any time you like!
