Chalets with the Best Boot Rooms

Ski lockers and boot rooms are likely not to be the first thing you consider when picking a ski chalet – in fact, where to hang your boots at the end of a day on the slopes probably doesn’t even enter your mind! But a functional boot room is an unsung hero to a ski holiday. When it’s well-located, well-designed and well-equipped, you can start your day in a relaxed fashion. Enjoy your hearty chalet breakfast, saunter into the boot room, sit down whilst you put your warm, dry boots on, grab your skis or board from the organised racks, open the door and head out onto the slopes. No stress, relaxed, ready to enjoy your day on the mountains. You’ll probably not even notice how good the boot room really is – that’s the sign of an excellent boot room!

Some of the best boot rooms our chalets have to offer…

Chalet Les Anemones – Les Deux Alpes

In Chalet Les Anémones, your journey from breakfast to boots to piste will be seamless and hassle-free. This chalet flows well. Enjoy your breakfast with mountain views in the chalet’s bright and light-filled living area. When you are ready, head downstairs to the modern and recently renovated boot room. Equipped with heated boot warmers for all guests, your boots will be toasty warm and dry at the start of each day. There’s plenty of room in the entrance hall so you can put on your boots with no acrobatics needed. Quickly, grab your skis or board and either walk less than 100m to the nearest green piste or take the bus which stops right outside to access the lifts in the centre of Les Deux Alpes.

Returning from the slopes is equally stress-free. Store your skis, boards and boots away as soon as you enter the chalet and head upstairs to enjoy sun-downers, mountain views and share stories of the day’s adventures on Chalet Les Anémones impressive out-door terrace.

The chalets have secure ski lockers in the building’s shared locker room. Inside the chalets’ ski locker, you’ll find heated boot warmers and racks, enough for all guests. So, all you have to do is put on your boots and hit those slopes, no fussing or messing around required.

And of course, in the evening, once those boots, boards and skis are securely stowed away, these chalets are not only ski-in and ski-out but they are also centrally located in Val Thorens so you can easily head out to enjoy all the bars, restaurants and entertainment that the resort has to offer.

Its boot room is right by the door at the top of the chalet which is a few paces away from a blue piste. With a comfortable, warm ambiance, this property has all the charm of an old-style chalet but with all the mod-cons including a modern boot-room equipped with benches, boot-warmers for all guests and racks for boards and skis. At the end of your day on the mountain, release your feet from your boots, head straight into the sitting room which is next to the boot room. Here, hunker down in front of the wood burning stove whilst tucking into a delicious afternoon tea which will be ready for you on your return.

Summary

Getting out onto the slopes can feel like a challenge sometimes. The 8:50am boot room rush and clamour to be out in time for the first ski lifts can be a bit fraught. The balancing act of standing on one leg whilst trying to jam your other foot into a ski boot, all whilst your fellow chalet guests are hopping around doing the same thing requires more fitness and patience than you may think. So when you book your next ski chalet holiday, consider one with a proper boot room to make your experience that little bit easier…
