Everyone remembers their first ski holiday. The excitement of heading to the mountains, the anticipation of clicking into a pair of skis for the very first time, and that unforgettable moment when your first turn finally comes together.
If you’re new to skiing, organising a trip can feel overwhelming. Lift passes, equipment hire, lessons, choosing the right resort – there are plenty of moving parts, especially when you don’t yet know what’s essential and what’s not.
That’s exactly why we’ve created our First Turns ski packages.
Designed specifically for beginner skiers, our First Turns packages combine all the key ingredients needed to start your skiing journey. Rather than booking lessons, equipment and lift passes separately, everything is wrapped into one convenient bundle, allowing you to focus on learning, progressing and enjoying your holiday.
Moreover, these packages are only bookable over the phone with our friendly Ski Specialists, so you can ask all the questions you desire. We want your first foray on snow to be filled with confidence and excitement!
All the essentials in one easy bundle from just £439 for adults and £370 for children. Includes a week’s lift pass, ski/snowboard and boot hire with helmet (plus poles if you’re skiing) and five or six mornings of ski lessons with a fully-qualified, English-speaking instructor.

- We’ve chosen resorts with excellent beginner terrain, giving you the perfect environment to learn and progress at your own pace.
Everything You Need to Get Started
Learning to ski is much easier when somebody has already done the planning for you. That’s exactly what a First Turns package is designed to do.
Each package includes:
- A local lift pass, giving you access to the mountain and beginner ski areas.
- Ski and boot hire, including a helmet and poles.
- Five or six mornings of ski lessons with a fully-qualified, English-speaking instructor.
These three elements form the foundation of any successful beginner ski holiday. Your instructor will guide you through the basics, from finding your balance and learning to stop safely, through to linking turns and building confidence on gentle slopes.
Meanwhile, professionally fitted equipment helps you stay comfortable throughout the week, and your lift pass gives you access to the slopes where you’ll put your new skills into practice.
Top Resorts for First-Time Skiers
Not every ski resort is ideal for beginners. That’s why First Turns packages are only available in destinations that offer excellent learning terrain, highly regarded ski schools and plenty of opportunities to progress.
La Plagne
One of the Alps’ most popular beginner destinations, La Plagne offers wide nursery slopes and an excellent variety of gentle runs for building confidence.
You’ll find the ski school meeting point in Plagne Centre – just below the Colorado chair lift and just above the Croq’Neige restaurant. Look out for our Oxygène flags, blue uniforms and big smiles. You can even pre-book a minibus shuttle to get to and from the meeting point if you prefer…
Les Arcs
Connected to La Plagne as part of the Paradiski ski area, Les Arcs combines beginner-friendly slopes with fantastic mountain scenery and modern lift systems.
There are two Arc Aventures by Evolution 2 locations in Les Arcs; one at the bottom of Transarc cable cars in Arc 1800, and the other at the bottom of the Lanchettes chairlift in Arc 2000.
Alpe d’Huez
Known for its sunny disposition and expansive pistes, Alpe d’Huez provides plenty of space for first-time skiers to develop their technique.
To find the ski shool meeting point in Alpe d’Huez, just hop on the Alpe Express lift to Les Bergers and you’ll find the ESF meeting point well signposted at the top.
Tignes
With its high altitude and reliable snow conditions, Tignes offers a long ski season and dedicated beginner zones that are perfect for learning.
There are two Evolution 2 Ski School locations in Tignes; one in Val Claret, at the base of the slopes, and one in Tignes La Lac, on the snow front. In both locations, the meeting point is outside an Evolution 2 Ski School office building.
Val Thorens
As Europe’s highest ski resort, Val Thorens delivers excellent snow conditions alongside a superb network of beginner-friendly slopes and lifts.
In Val Thorens, look out for the Oxygène ski school flags in front of the Tourotel, just in front of the Hotel Le Fahrenheit 7. Instructors wear orange and blue uniforms, and big smiles!
