fernie ski resort

A Steep and Deep Powder Paradise!

Fernie is British Columbia’s hidden secret. With an incredible average snowfall of 29ft and challenging terrain, Fernie really lives up to its ‘steep and deep’ billing. The lower slopes near to the resort centre are dedicated to beginners, but those more advanced skiers will be heading to experience Fernie’s steep powder bowls. The resort holds a selection of bars, with accommodation split between the resort and the bus linked town of Fernie just 5km away. This relaxed and friendly resort is perfect for all levels looking for something slightly different in their Canadian ski experience.

skiing and boarding in fernie

Un-crowded, powder filled slopes are what be found at Fernie all season long. Hidden away in the heart of the Canadian Rockies, Fernie has something to offer all levels with flat, cruising runs towards the bottom, and steep alpine chutes at the top which will challenge even the most advanced skier. Beginners should head to the Mini and Mighty Moose Chairs to take advantage of the lower mountain, while intermediates can enjoy an abundance of tree runs by taking the Timber Bowl Express. The more advanced have a wealth of tough chutes, glades, bumps and deep powder to keep them happy.

apres ski in fernie

Fernie is a relaxed and unpretentious resort with a few busy après bars at the bottom of the slopes; mainly centred around the Powder Horn Bar at the Griz Inn which sometimes has live bands. The old town of Fernie just 5km away, linked by an efficient bus service from the mountain, has a more extensive après scene allowing you to party on late into the night.
