Our New Year ski holidays typically depart on a Saturday or Sunday, arriving early so you can maximise your time in the mountains. You'll also be in resort on the most important days - New Years Eve and New Years Day, without having to travel with a slightly lingering headache after the celebrations!

* For New Year ski holidays in 2026/27, we will only be offering Sunday to Sunday flights (27th - 3rd January) to ensure you can enjoy the festivities to their fullest, and avoid the post-New Year rush.

Val Thorens

Val Thorens knows how to celebrate New Year. The festivities typically begin with a spectacular torchlight descent by local ski instructors, followed by live entertainment and music in the resort centre. As midnight approaches, the celebrations build to a stunning fireworks display, creating an unforgettable atmosphere in Europe's highest ski resort.

Val D’Isere

New Year's Eve in Val d'Isère is centred around the famous snow front, where visitors gather for live music, entertainment and a midnight fireworks display. If you're looking to keep the celebrations going, many of the resort's popular après-ski bars and clubs host special New Year's Eve events, with tickets often selling out in advance.

St Anton

St Anton celebrates New Year with its popular St Anton Illuminated laser and light show in the village centre. The resort has replaced a large public fireworks display with this environmentally friendly spectacle, which attracts visitors from across the valley each year.

Many of St Anton's hotels, bars and restaurants also host their own New Year's Eve dinners and parties. Venues such as Raffl's, Anthony's Happy Valley Steakhouse, MooserWirt and Krazy Kanguruh are popular choices, so it's worth booking ahead if you'd like to celebrate at one of the resort's best-known spots.

That’s when you’ll find the best availability on chalets, flights, and the most in-demand resorts. New Year’s week fills up fast and no one wants to be stuck searching for snow the week before Christmas! Get in early and let the countdown begin to skiing at New Year.

What are the best ski resorts to celebrate New Year's Eve?

Looking for snow and a proper party? You’ll want to be in places like Val d’Isère, Tignes, Val Thorens, or Les Deux Alpes. These resorts know how to throw a New Year bash, expect fireworks, big après, and powder to match the prosecco. Prefer something a bit quieter with alpine charm? Resorts like La Rosière and Les Arcs keep things festive without the full-on frenzy.

Will there be snow for New Year's day?

Pretty likely, especially if you head high. Stick to snow-sure resorts above 1,800m or with glacier access (don't worry, all our chalets tick this box!) for the best snow conditions. Shops and bars might open a little later, but you’ll still be able to grab a mountain lunch on the slopes.
