Corvara is a beautiful and special resort perfect to experience the true Italian style mixed with Austrian and Ladin local traditions, ski unlimited distances, explore the famous Sellaronda, taste gourmet food and to enjoy the majestic beauty of the Dolomites.
Giorgio, Product Executive
The twin resorts of Corvara and Colfosco, joined by the Borest gondola are located on a sunny plateau with an ideal location to access the Sellaronda and the rest of the Dolomiti Superski Area. Both featuring challenging skiing for beginners and intermediates and a variation in tempo, from the quaint vibe in Colfosco to the chic party atmosphere in Corvara. A strong reputation for gourmet dining makes either of these resorts a fantastic option for a refined Italian ski holiday.

The first ski lift in the valley – the Col Alto Toboggan lift - was constructed in 1938. This was replaced in 1946 by a chairlift which was the first of its kind in Italy. Since then, skiing in Corvara and Colfosco have flourished thanks to the sunny climate and easy access to the picturesque skiing around the Sellaronda.
The skiing in Alta Badia valley where both these villages sit offers something for all standards. Although there are considerably more beginner and intermediate terrain than expert-level, the black runs are certainly challenging and the off-piste is sublime (we recommend a local guide). An added benefit is the consistency of the pistes thanks to slopes on all aspects of the compass which are situated both above and below the treeline. A rich diversity of pistes for skiers and snowboarders is abound in Corvara and Colfosco.
Choose from either a local Alta Badia or a Dolomiti Super Ski lift pass. The former gives you access to 130km of pistes and 53 modern ski lifts and is generally better suited to beginners, intermediates and families with children.
The Dolomiti Super Ski pass is the daddy of lift passes in this region, enabling skiing across 12 varied resorts (including around the Sellaronda), 450 ski lifts and a massive 1,200km of runs. It’s one of the largest ski areas in the world and value for money (£’s per km) is quite incredible if you like to get around on the slopes!
These twinned resorts offer something in abundance that Italy is famous for – delicious cuisine. There’s a real buzz in both villages although Corvara being larger is more lively on the whole. Dining is a pastime, not merely a mealtime in this valley and with a superb range of restaurants and an array of fine wines to sample guests are spoiled for choice. Just don’t forget to get going with an Aperol Spritz for après!

Colfosco is a favourite holiday destination for families, set in the sunny Edelweiss Valley (Val Stelle Alpina). And a great entry point to the picturesque Sellaronda ski circuit.
The closest airport to Corvara and Colfosco is Bolzano, which at only 63km means transfer time is short – a must if you have kids in tow!
There’s a great provision to keep kids busy on the slopes in Alta Badia where the villages of Corvara and Colfosco are located, with sledging runs, several snow parks and slalom courses, ice skating and sleigh rides.
