First and foremost on a ski holiday we want great skiing. Slipping into our boots, gliding down the slopes and chatting away on the chairlifts is what we all daydream of in the summer months. However, once we have chosen the when and where for our winter getaway, there is still much to consider. The choice of accommodation and all it provides is of crucial importance.<\/p>\n

After finishing a ski day and peeling off your waterproof and thermal layers, much leisure time remains in the day. How you choose to spend this time is up to you, but a firm favourite that is becoming more readily available is a ski hotel<\/a><\/strong> or apartment’s wellness area, and more specifically the swimming pool. If taking a dunk is your cup of tea, then read on to discover our favourite pool-equipped properties across our programme of ski hotels and apartments…<\/p>\n

Hotel Village Montana, Tignes<\/h3>\n

We\u2019re starting off with a bang here, with the Hotel Village Montana<\/a> in Tignes, situated in a ski-in\/ ski-out location around 500m from Tignes Le Lac. This 4-star ski hotel enjoys heated ski lockers, spacious but cosy rooms and an amazing outdoor pool.<\/p>\n

This heated Nordic swimming pool\u00a0will be perfect to relax and look out over the resort after a tough day on the snow. If more pampering is needed then the sauna, hammam, Jacuzzi and relaxation room can pick up the slack.<\/p>\n

Hotel Gran Baita, Courmayeur<\/h3>\n

Did I say we are starting with a bang? Well let\u2019s try to top it immediately. How does a private outdoor heated mini pool sound? That’s exactly what is on offer with the Executive room at the Hotel Gran Baita<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Your executive private pool will have you based in the resort of Courmayeur, with access to the hotel’s free shuttle service. Half board catering is available with the highlight being a gourmet 4-course dinner, along with a breakfast including fresh cornettos (Italian for croissants). This stylish hotel has been newly refurbished and offers a perfect traditional Italian base, with warm hospitality.<\/p>\n

Staying in Italy, moving from outdoor pools to indoor. The Hotel Cime d’Oro<\/a> gives the feel of a retreat with its alpine guesthouse style single and double rooms. Offering a home to explore the Superskirama area, the hotel is situated just outside the village of Madonna di Campiglio with a shuttle service to and from town.<\/p>\n

Onto the swimming- the relaxation area features a large hydro pool and hot tub, along with enticing extras including hot stone bed, sauna and ice waterfall. After enjoying the soak, head over to the panoramic lounge to snap up the apr\u00e8s ski snacks (also the hit place for a hearty breakfast).<\/p>\n

Hotel Taj-I Mah, Les Arcs<\/h3>\n

Upping star rating a bit for the next one on our list… The Hotel Taj-I Mah<\/a> in Arcs 2000 is the only 5-star property in Les Arcs, ski-in\/ski-out and only 120m from the town centre.<\/p>\n

It doesn\u2019t take much to guess the level of quality on offer. This high standard continues throughout the rooms, the restaurants (plural!), and most importantly for us- the wellness facilities. The large indoor pool teams up with a sauna, steam room, whirlpool and salt wall. Hotel Interski, St Cristina Val Gardena<\/h3>\n

Heading back to a pool in the great outdoors. Hotel Interski’s offering is not one to be missed, the indoor pool is now joined by a new outdoor infinity pool (as well as 3 saunas and a steam room).<\/p>\n

The Hotel Interski<\/a> will place you in a prime position in the Dolomiti Superski area, free to explore its 1200km of pistes. After exploring the mountains you can even turn your gaze to the sky, making use of the hotel’s observatory. Alternatively, you can just turn your attention to the on-site microbrewery. Yes, the hotel even has one of these, using exclusively natural mountain spring water from the Puez Odle nature reserve.<\/p>\n

Hotel Evaldo, Arabba<\/h3>\n

Staying in Italy, to the serious skiing of Arabba. Here we find the famous Sella Ronda and some of the best and most exciting black runs in the dolomites.<\/p>\n

Along with the world-class skiing we come across the Hotel Evaldo<\/a>. Adding another 4-star ski hotel<\/a> to our list, the leisure centre of the Evaldo delivers a jacuzzi, sauna, Turkish bath and swimming pool. This spa oasis follows an elegant roman style, so you can really feel like the conquering hero of the mountain (even if only the nursery slopes).<\/p>\n

Another bonus here is the half board option, including a traditional 4-course dinner and excellent hot and cold breakfast buffet. All served in the ornate dining room. Just remember to wait the classic 2 hours before swimming after a decadent meal.<\/p>\n

Romantik Hotel Cappella, Corvara & Colfosco<\/h3>\n

Our final stop in Italy and the second 5-star property on the list. This piste-side pool needs to be seen to be believed, you’ll be splashing passing skiers with every stroke.<\/p>\n

Located on the slopes of Colfosco, a 4 minute drive from Corvara, the glamorous Romantik Hotel Cappella<\/a> is a real bucket list property. Gourmet cuisine and a huge selection of wines will be at your disposal to replenish the energy spent over the days skiing. As well as the impressive outdoor pool, also on cards is an indoor pool, multiple saunas and a fitness area so you can train and keep on your routine.<\/p>\n

Blackcomb Springs Suites, Whistler<\/h3>\n

Finally, let’s go long-haul and hop over the Atlantic Ocean to the west coast of Canada. We may have travelled nearly 5000 miles from the previous hotel, but you’ll find all your favorite aspects of skiing are still on hand- amazing snow, ski-in\/ ski-out accommodation, and of course… a heated outdoor slope-side pool.<\/p>\n

The Blackcomb Spring Suites<\/a> set you up perfectly to enjoy the diverse skiing in Whistler – North America’s biggest ski resort. Variety on the slopes is matched by the range of room types here, giving differing groups a great choice in suite sizes and configurations. What’s more, even though you may have time to settle into a few films on the flight, the airport transfer to the ski resort is in fact shorter than some of its European counterparts.<\/p>\n
