The most beautiful chalets are those that make you feel like your at home in the mountains. The décor, exterior, location, facilities all come into play when choosing your perfect chalet. After sieving through the multiple chalets we have on our programme, I picked out the ones that stand out as being all-rounders, and it’s not just the signature properties that make the list.
Signature Chalet Altair – Nendaz
No surprise Chalet Altair is number one on the list. You just have to look at the reviews of this chalet to realise just how beautiful it really is. Head up to the penthouse floor, walk through the solid oak front door and experience true luxury. Heated slate floors, granite fireplace, cosy furniture, panoramic balcony and private hot tub is just the start of the endless details that make this chalet so stunning. Not forgetting the excellent location in the heart of Nendaz, with the main ski lift only 50m away.
Grade 5 Chalet Laetitia – Meribel
Perfect for groups, this chalet offers a relaxed, spacious environment with amazing facilities to keep all skiers occupied after a full day on the slopes. The exterior is as beautiful as the interior. Made of stone and timber with a wrap-around balcony and outdoor private hot tub, guests can take in sensational views of the valley at all angles. The interior is stylish and contemporary with modern luxuries and homely touches, such as a satellite TV, large cinema room, large fireplace, sauna, heated boot room and en suite in all rooms.
Signature Chalet Benjamin, Jaques & Samuel – Courchevel
Owned by Skiworld’s CEO Ian Coleby and named after his sons, these ski-in/ski-out signature chalets are full of alpine character. They are all furnished to the highest standard with recycled materials – industrial-style metalwork, reclaimed timber, natural stone and handmade wooden furniture. The three chalets all have slightly different vibes, however they all encompass that true home-from-home feel, with added luxuries including saunas and outdoor hot tubs with amazing views of the valley.
Grade 4 Chalet Gorges – Les Deux Alpes
One of the favourites and such a great option for families and small groups. A cosy, inviting chalet apartment with an open-plan living/dining area and a south-facing terrace offering spectacular views of the Muzelle. The great thing about this chalet is that it is located in a peaceful area, however the start of the apres ‘strip’ is only a 3-minute walk away; perfect for those who want the chance to experience both first lifts and late nights. The Diable chairlift is only 330 metres walk away so the chalet is ideally located for ski convenience.
Grade 4+ Chalet Pheobe/Hera – Tignes
Both Pheobe and Hera shared areas have been recently renovated and now represent a more modern, clean-cut look, which in turn has created more space and light to the room. Re-purposed materials have been used crafting intricate details and adding bundles of character. The major selling point about these chalets is the ski-in/ski-out location, just next door to the ski school meeting point and a short ski down to the Bollin Fresses lift. A stylish chalet in a prime location – can’t get much better than that.
Signature Chalet Nimbus – St Anton
This is a memorable chalet, which will leave you eager to return time after time. Alpine luxury is prominent throughout, with a heated outdoor pool on the lower ground floor, complete with an inset whirlpool. Guests can go between the pool, sauna, steam room and relaxation room, which are shared with the other Skiworld ‘Mountain Sky’ signatures in the building – Chalet Cirrus and Stratus. Alongside the timber and stone interior is the comfy sofas draped in throws and cushions, colourful rugs, interesting artwork and open fireplace. The bedrooms all have their own balconies and en-suite bathrooms with walk-in showers. Skiworld also have a minibus service which will which take you down to the centre of town ready to hit the slopes. Pure bliss.
Grade 4 Chalet Germaine – Meribel
This is one of our new chalets, introduced in the 19/20 season and what a beautiful addition it is.
