Equipment Hire, Ski School & Lift Passes

To get the very best value for your money it is best to pre-book your lift tickets and equipment hire in the UK. This will also enable you to take advantage of special offers in selected resorts such as FREE days. These offers are detailed on the resort pages of the Skiworld website and brochure. Please note that these offers must be pre-booked and in some cases date restrictions and other booking conditions apply. If you have not pre-booked your lift passes or ski rental and are staying in one of the resorts in which we offer this service, your Skiworld Representative will visit your accommodation, shortly after arrival to help you arrange this conveniently and quickly. They will have negotiated special rates for your ski equipment and can supply your lift pass.

Please Note: In Whistler it is highly recommended to pre-book children’s ski school in order to ensure availability. You can call us on 08444 930 431 to arrange this if you have not done so already or visit our Ski School page.

In resorts where we do not have a local or Skiworld Representative (Banff/Lake Louise, Whistler, Fernie, Kicking Horse, Sun Peaks, Big White, Silver Star, Snowbird, Park City, Squaw Valley, Tremblant, Jasper, Steamboat, Copper, Killington, Stowe, Jackson Hole, Mammoth and Heavenly) lift tickets can still be pre-booked in the UK with our sales team at reduced rates. A voucher will be provided which is exchanged in resort for your pre-booked ski packs and lift passes.

Getting the most from your hired equipment

We have used our contacts to negotiate special prices for the hire of skis, snowboards & boots. The prices we offer represent up to 25% savings on public rates.

Boots

When renting boots, do not hesitate to change them if they are uncomfortable. If you brave the pain you may find you damage your feet to the extent that you will not be able to wear any boots at all and thus not be able to ski. Please do not hesitate to ask our representatives for help. If you purchase new boots before your holiday, try to ‘break them in’ before skiing in them.

Skis/Snowboards

We have negotiated great discounts with rental shops in prime locations, close to the lifts, or with delivery services direct to your accommodation, both offering an excellent range of equipment for all levels. Fully trained technicians will ensure you rent equipment suitable for your ability level and give you advice and guidance.

Bindings

A ski binding attaches the boot to the ski and is designed to release the boot from the ski when there is danger but otherwise absorb shocks. Do not adjust your bindings unless you are 100% confident in what you are doing. A qualified technician at the ski shop will do this for you.

We act as an agent for the hire of equipment. This is sold separately and is not part of your package holiday. Suppliers’ conditions therefore apply.

Equipment Insurance

Any loss or damage to hired equipment must be reported to the ski hire shop immediately. It must be paid for in resort and the appropriate insurance claim made, subject to conditions. Please make sure you are aware of the level of cover offered by your policy. Many shops offer ‘top up’ insurance to cover excesses. In some resorts a refundable deposit is payable for hire equipment as well as separate ski breakage insurance. You must ensure that your ski equipment is returned to the hire shop before closure on the day before departure or the day of travel. See more on insurance...
