Montreal is located towards Canada’s East coast, in the province of Quebec.  Being the 2nd biggest French speaking city after Paris, its uniqueness is in the fact that there is a very distinctive French atmosphere.  It has a reputation for being one the most fashionable and glamorous cities in Canada. Combining this with its historic charm and authentic French architecture, Montreal is definitely worth a visit.

The history of Montreal spans back thousands of years.  The first European to reach Montreal was Jacques Cartier in 1535, and this marked the beginning of the French habitation.  By 1832 Montreal was incorporated as a city and grew expansively from there.  Today it is a metropolis of museums, trendy boutiques, archaeological landmarks, botanic gardens, art galleries, and of course, not forgetting the many delectable restaurants, cafes and bars.  Montreal is a port city, which was originally the gateway for immigrants many centuries ago.

With only a 7 hour flight to Montreal airport, this city is a perfect addition to your ski holiday in Mont Tremblant, which is a scenic hour and a half’s drive away.
