Vail's back bowls open today

Some of Vail’s famous back bowls are opening today. The first chair at 8:30am will no doubt be hotly sought after! China Bowl and Sun Up Bowl open today in part, and Blue Sky Basin opens tomorrow. It’s what everyone has been waiting for! Vail’s bowls make up around half of the terrain at Vail, and the skiing is some of the very best in North America when the snow is good.


Although she has arrived a little later than planned, La Nina seems to have booked a late deal to Colorado and is looking to stay for the foreseeable future, dumping foot after foot of snow in her wake. Vail’s recent snowfall was measured at 16 inches in the last week, with snow in the forecast for the next 7 days too!
